Ella Marie Ommen was Henry P’s wife. Together, they expanded BlackFork’s farming operation into South Dakota in 1951. The name Ella is of Germanic origin and means “Beautiful Light,” with ancient origins in the Hebrew language meaning “God is with Us.” In Greek mythology, Ella was the maiden daughter of the God Athamas and the Goddess Nephele.
