Pronghorn are often called the “antelope,” but they aren’t related to antelope at all. The American pronghorn is the only surviving member of the family Antilocapridae. As a member of the superfamily Giraffoidea, the pronghorn’s closest living relatives are the giraffes and okapi.

For thousands of years, the Cocteau Hills we now call home,  were filled with American Pronghorn.  Today, from a comfortable leather Sickly chairs in the Pronghorn Lounge, you can enjoy a craft bourbon along with the sweeping views of the Blue Bell Hills, where the Pronghorn once roamed carefree. Pronghorn love the wide open spaces, having developed exceptional distance vision and immense speed to spot and outrun the American Cheetah – once the main predator of American Pronghorn

Given their fleet-footed nature, Pronghorn are referred to by some as Ghosts of the Prairie.
