Manage BlackFork Farms new Retail Store & Tasting Room located in the heart of Downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a vibrant community with good school system, bike paths, shops, entertainment and restaurants.  South Dakota is a state of wide-open spaces, friendly people, low crime, good schools, and low taxes.

The Retail Manager will lead and manage all aspects of our Sioux Fall and E-Commerce retail merchandise and sales. We hold communication skills at a premium and expect any candidate to be able to interact professionally with peers, staff, suppliers and customers.

 

Retail Manager responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and manage Sioux Falls Store merchandise and operations, including E-Commerce sales.
  • Work directly with customers, providing a good experience to maximize sales.
  • Supervising and guiding staff towards maximum performance.

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Store. You will be the one to ensure smooth running of operations to maximize sales and minimize costs.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a store manager and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales, marketing etc. An effective retail manager will also be able to motivate personnel to perform according to their maximum capacity.

The goal is to manage our Sioux Falls store in ways that boost revenues and develops the business.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the store and service customers
  • Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
  • Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
  • Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget
  • Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation
  • Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
  • Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays
  • Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store
  • Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts
  • Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines

Requirements and skills

  • Proven customer service experience or other managerial position
  • Knowledge of retail management best practices
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent organizing and leadership skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
  • Experience with retail management systems, such as SQUARE, would be helpful, but note required.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field; MSc/MA is desirable
